Aaahhh I have such a girl crush on Brody at the moment. I was never really into the Distillers, which is why I never paid much attention to her. But her new stuff by Spinnerette is freakin great

I'm currently in the middle of writing a paper on the representation of gender in Trish Salah's poetry. I'm reading, over and over, the Surgical Diary. Trish Salah is a transsexual, and she kept a diary of her surgical experience, before, during, and after. This is a small part of it:
Gender Dysphoria(dysphasia)
I used to think dysphoria meant falling, to fall out of, or even, within, Not unbearable and so I used to be Falling out of not just Bearing with the difficulty of mine Of being a place and it's erasure.
O_O
Holy shit (how poetic of me)

My mom is looking at travel nursing, specifically in manhattan new york. its pretty exciting because if she's going I'm going with her for about a month! I'm also going to drop out of waterloo uni and possibly transfer to another. I'm just not sure which I'm going to transfer to, or if it will even be this year. All in all I'm feeling pretty good. I need some time to figure out what I want out of my life, and how to get it. Right now it all feels ...fake. As if I'm forcing myself to want something I don't. At least the pressure is off.

Fantastic video to this poem.
"Ash, ash --- You poke and stir. Flesh, bone, there is nothing there----
A cake of soap, A wedding ring, A gold filling.
Herr God, Herr Lucifer Beware Beware.
Out of the ash I rise with my red hair And I eat men like air. "

Watching Alice by Nick Cave |

I'm not dropping out. Not yet. I'm going to stick around for the year and see how I get by. However I have to decide wheather or not I want to apply to Queen's by February, if I want to transfer there for next year.
Oh! I found sunglasses that go with my haircut! Normally, I either try on ones that are too big(and look freakin ridiculous!) or too small. This time I found the perfect pair. Example:

I couldn't resist the new photobucket 'film grain' manip. BOOYA
Also! I'm creating a new reading list. Yet again. Right now I'm reading Engleby by Sebastian Faulks, followed by Suite Francais by Irene Nemirovsky. I've also started writing again.
Recommend me books! PLEEASE :D

Stay out super late tonight picking apples, making pies put a little something in our lemonade and take it with us we’re half-awake in a fake empire we’re half-awake in a fake empire
Tiptoe through our shiny city with our diamond slippers on do our gay ballet on ice bluebirds on our shoulders we’re half-awake in a fake empire we’re half-awake in a fake empire
Turn the light out say goodnight no thinking for a little while lets not try to figure out everything at once It’s hard to keep track of you falling through the sky we’re half-awake in a fake empire we’re half-awake in a fake empire
-Fake Empire by the National
Just wondering, does anyone have any ideas on what this song might be about?
I have my own thoughts but I'd love to hear your opinions.
Please share what you think, if you have time :)

Come Closer by Dirty Pretty Things |
] |
Another fairly good day. A little boring, because it was Sunday, but eh...I entertained myself with The mighty boosh. So much lolz and such :D
I uploaded a few pictures from today.

Forgot to take tag off hat... but I'm still lookin smug. :D
Even more pictures later! We took pictures of birds and named them. And the Big ben of course, And many red buses. Richelle's uncle came down to visit us, and he bought me the Kate Moss perfume even though I had just met him and he didn't really know me. It's not cheap, either. What a nice man.
Tomorrow is the last day(well, today). Must fully enjoy it. London makes me feel all tingly inside. I can't wait to come back already. Unitl then though, I feel oddly inspired by nothing in paticular. I just really want to draw and paint when I get back.

Hippy's Son by Dirty Pretty Things |
] |
So, I'm finally going to see London England, from June 15th to the 23rd. I'm so excited. SOoooOooso so sosooo excited.
I already ordered tickets for the 'Night of Real Fits' in Hackney, to see Dirty Pretty Things live. I need to see them live...this may be my only chance.
It should be...erm...fun.....trying to make my way around London. Hopefully I can find Round Chapel. Though I'll probably get lost and mugged first. :P
Yay for London!
Now I go brush my teeth.
